Coldplay Concert in Mumbai Faces Ticket Controversy: BookMyShow Investigates Resales

The Coldplay concert in Mumbai has become a topic of concern due to ticketing issues. BookMyShow, the official ticket seller for the British band’s performance, is investigating the resale of tickets that were sold unethically. Here’s what is happening.

Coldplay Concert Ticket Controversy

BookMyShow has filed a formal complaint with the Mumbai Police against those involved in scalping and black marketing of tickets for the upcoming concert. They had exclusive rights to sell tickets for Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025” in India.

A spokesperson for BookMyShow stated that tickets sold in an unethical manner could be canceled. The platform has already filed an FIR against unauthorized sellers who are reselling tickets at much higher prices. Some tickets, which were originally priced between ₹2,500 and ₹35,000, have been listed for as high as ₹3 lakh on various online platforms.

BookMyShow is actively monitoring these unauthorized resales. They are sharing information with authorities about individuals and platforms involved in these activities, including those on social media like Instagram and WhatsApp, as well as larger platforms like Viagogo and Stubhub.

Despite the ongoing issues, BookMyShow has confirmed that the Coldplay concert will still take place as planned on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025. They aim to ensure that fans have a fair opportunity to buy tickets, which is why they limited purchases to four tickets per person.
