In the early hours of Monday, a large fire erupted at Miyan Kebabs, a popular restaurant located in Bandra West, Mumbai. The fire started around 1:14 AM, reportedly due to a short circuit in the restaurant’s electrical system. The blaze quickly spread, engulfing the restaurant and creating panic among nearby residents and workers.

The flames originated from the restaurant’s tandoor, a traditional clay oven used for cooking kebabs. The fire intensified when a temporary shed made of flammable materials caught fire, making it harder for authorities to control the situation.

Thankfully, the Mumbai fire brigade responded swiftly. Firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after the emergency call and were able to bring the fire under control by 1:38 AM, preventing the flames from spreading to nearby buildings. Despite the significant damage to Miyan Kebabs, no injuries were reported.
Local authorities are now investigating whether the restaurant followed proper fire safety regulations. The incident has raised concerns about the use of temporary structures in restaurants, as these can pose a fire hazard in emergencies. Business owners in the area are being urged to check their electrical systems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Although Miyan Kebabs remains closed for repairs, the quick response from the fire brigade averted a larger disaster.
