Baby Pygmy Hippo Moo Deng Goes Viral, Zoo Limits Visits Due to Safety Concerns

Moo Deng, a two-month-old pygmy hippo, has captured the internet’s heart with her adorable photos and videos. Born in July at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi province, Thailand, Moo Deng is becoming a viral sensation on social media.

The tiny hippo which is popularly known as the pink bean from Thailand is slowly but surely gaining followers all over the world. Specifically, others have shared pictures and videos of her calling her cute and very playful. It simply feels like Moo Deng has become a lifestyle icon and people have commented making comments that more wax Moist and round.

During Emmys, Moo Deng’s photo was also humorously edited with the caption of her on the red carpet and fans label her as a fashionista. Sephora Thailand also came and put down makeup tips based on Moo Deng.

Moo Deng hence depicts pygmy hippos which are small as compared to the normal hippos; while growing to half the height of its relative, it only weighs a quarter as well. It has its origin in West African and is listed as an endangered species because of loss of their living space and fear.

The authorities of the zoo are doing everything so that Moo Deng would not become a victim of poaching. In the past some people have even started throwing things at her thus putting her on limited displays to the public. Now, people can visit Moo Deng only what the penitentiary allows them on the weekend, and in five minutes at most.

Narongwit Chodchoy, the director of the zoo, highlighted the necessity of protecting Moo Deng, and to make sure she stays safe. The pygmy hippos are on the endangered list with their population summing up to less than 2000 in the wild, conserving them is therefore important.
