At the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) 2024, Sabrina Carpenter wowed the crowd with an unforgettable performance. She won the Song of the Year award for her hit single “Espresso” and made her debut performance at the show.

During her set, Carpenter gave a nod to Britney Spears by recreating a memorable moment from Spears’s music video for “Oops!…I Did It Again.” As the song’s spoken interlude played, Carpenter took the stage, where she found an astronaut and, in a surprising twist, kissed an alien.

Carpenter’s performance also featured dancing astronauts and a mix of songs from her latest album, Short n’ Sweet. Fans on social media were thrilled by the unique and entertaining show.
In addition to her VMAs performance, Carpenter has had a busy year. She performed at Coachella in April and opened for Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour. Her single “Espresso” quickly went viral after its release.
Looking ahead, Carpenter will start her Short n’ Sweet tour on September 23 in Columbus, Ohio. The tour will visit 33 cities in the U.S. before heading to the UK in 2025.
