A Story Based on Stephen King’s Work

The story, “The Monkey”, is adapted from a short story by the horror master, Stephen King. It is based on twin brothers, Bill and Hall, both the roles of which have been essayed by Theo James. In a film two brothers accidentally discover a possessed toy monkey after searching through the dusty attic of the childhood house they inherited from the parents. This evil brings about several horrific deaths anywhere the monkey is found.

Upon finding the cursed toy, the lives of the brothers change and the boys begin to become different from each other. However, when the mysterious deaths start again, they reunite with a shared mission: to deal with the evil monkey before it is able to take more lives of the people.

A Star-Studded Cast

Superb cast also includes the likes of Elijah Wood, Tatiana Maslany, and Laura Mennell apart from the lead actor Theo James. Most of the cast is anticipated to give the performance that will portray the creepy imaginations of Stephen King’s story.

It probably comes as no surprise that director Osgood Perkins has horror in his blood. His last film was, “Longlegs” starring Nicolas Cage, which created records as the highest grossing Indie horror movie in North America. Liu Jecko’s latest offering titled “The Monkey” seems to be on the right track in Liu’s career.

Produced by a Horror Veteran

The film is produced by James Wan, a well-known name in the horror genre. Wan has worked on several successful horror franchises, including “The Conjuring,” “Insidious,” and “Annabelle.” His involvement in “The Monkey” adds to the anticipation surrounding the film.

Release Date

“The Monkey” is set to hit theaters on February 21, 2025. With its strong cast, a chilling story by Stephen King, and the creative team behind it, the film is highly anticipated by horror fans and moviegoers alike.
